Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with all health and safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and utilize the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) in production areas.
- Ensure adherence to food quality and safety standards as per established guidelines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, contributing to measurable enhancements in operational efficiency.
- Plan and execute complex corrective and preventive maintenance tasks, leveraging a deep understanding of mechanical principles.
- Assess and establish a baseline for the current effectiveness of work order planning and scheduling, considering cost implications.
- Become proficient in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) used at the facility (e.g., SAP-PM) and identify areas for improvement in reporting and work order processes.
- Enhance communication and improve the effectiveness of work order completion rates, reducing backlog and prioritizing tasks with improved methods.
- Optimize all maintenance activities, from breakdowns to condition-based tasks, and lead the development of planning and scheduling protocols.
- Contribute to measurable reductions in maintenance-related downtime and associated costs, supporting cost-per-case objectives across the organization.
- Complete all necessary documentation daily, including logs, downtime reports, work orders, preventive maintenance records, inventory slips, and Maintenance Work Requests (MWRs).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Extensive technical expertise in industrial maintenance, including knowledge of relevant regulations and standards. Ability to interpret complex diagrams.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices, with the ability to read intricate piping and mechanical schematics.
- Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Education and Experience:
- Interprovincial Journeyman License.
- Millwright certification or a dual ticket in Electrician/Millwright is advantageous.
- Power Engineer Certificate required.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in production or line machine maintenance.
- Experience in line maintenance within a food and beverage production setting is preferred.
