About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mold Maker to join our team at Ram Plastics Inc. as a key member of our manufacturing department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Development: Instruct apprentices in the art of mold making, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to excel in this field.
  • Quality Control: Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, guaranteeing the highest level of quality in our products.
  • Machining and Programming: Program CNC machine tools to precision-cut metal molds, core boxes, and models, adhering to strict specifications.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to accurately lay out and shape metal, wood, plastic, and other materials.
  • Mold Creation: Realize machine castings to create metal molds, core boxes, and precisely shaped models, meeting the demands of our clients.
  • Electrical Discharge Machines: Set up and operate electrical discharge machines (EDM) to precision-cut metal molds and other components.
  • Pattern Creation: Lay out, shape, and assemble patterns of metal, wood, plastic, and other materials from blueprints, models, or templates, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Material Preparation: Position, secure, measure, and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining, guaranteeing the highest level of quality.
  • Machining Operations: Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to precision-cut metal molds and other components.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Physical Demands: Overtime may be required, and the ability to lift and move heavy materials is essential.
Personal Qualities and Experience
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, flexible, organized, and a team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in mold making, with a strong understanding of precision machining and quality control.
Language and Work Schedule
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in this role.
  • Work Schedule: 30 hours per week, with flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
