Director, Architecture

Ware Malcomb is seeking a seasoned Director, Architecture to lead our Toronto architecture market. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving design excellence, business growth, and staff management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee finances, business development, operations, and team member management of the Architecture group.
  • Ensure all proposals and contracts are in place, and review and sign off on project budget reports.
  • Be responsible for the group's organizational charts and conduct regular reviews of office forecasts, financials, and staffing needs.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Architecture group.
  • Foster a positive culture, morale, and wellbeing of the team.
  • Review monthly project revenue projections and provide weekly updates.
  • Prepare a monthly business report and participate in monthly meetings.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to increase market share and win work.
  • Attend business development and networking functions, and set up regular networking meetings with clients and industry contacts.
  • Utilize Ware Malcomb's CRM system to track business development activity.
  • Review the group's workload schedule and attend scheduling meetings.
  • Proactively manage project liability issues.
  • Stay connected with the team through regular meetings and communication.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to recruit new team members.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in the field of Architecture.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Extensive experience managing diverse projects.
  • Ability to lead and foster a positive team environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
