Job Summary

SG Tech, a leader in innovative technology solutions, is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead critical projects related to Application Enhancements, Currency Upgrades, and Dynamic Currency Conversion systems for payment processing with Visa and Mastercard. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and technology, enhancing payment systems used by millions worldwide.

The system is used for international currency conversions through ATMs internationally. This role will be reviewing how to enhance the product. With the international usage of the system, the role may require the individual to speak other languages to discuss technical issues in laymen's terms. Team Culture? The team is highly dynamic. Very fast paced. Lots of changes on the go week to week due to nature of business we are in. Who Will the Candidate Be Working? Project teams and Business clients


Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Management: Develop, track and manage project budget, project plans, timelines and scope.
  • Team Leadership: Effectively oversee project staff (direct reports, matrixed reports, contractors, and interns), delegating work to appropriate leads.
  • Communication: Efficiently communicate to stakeholders to manage expectations and project progress.
  • Risk Management: Ensure that necessary risk assessments are continually reviewed and monitored and proactively addressed in a timely fashion.
  • User Acceptance Testing: Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.
  • Project Delivery: Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Stakeholder Management: Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors.
  • Project Resource Management: Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching, and advising.
  • Business Partnership: Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements.
  • Cost-Benefit Analysis: Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses.
  • Project Closure: Successfully plan, execute, control and close projects against defined scope and budget using CIBC procedures and policies.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
  • Certification: PMP or PMI certification.
  • Experience: Proven project management experience. 8-10 years experience.
  • Skills: People management and team building skills. Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities. Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization. Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions. Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment. Extensive practical experience and knowledge with techniques for planning, organizing, and monitoring multiple IT projects simultaneously.
