About the Role

Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a highly motivated Business Auditor to join our team. As a Business Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting operational and quality file reviews, identifying areas for improvement, and collaborating with senior auditors, trainers, and leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and understand business risks related to client files
  • Conduct thorough reviews of personal insurance operational and quality files
  • Provide feedback to staff members and leaders on audit results
  • Identify training needs and provide recommendations
  • Assess the quality of supporting documentation within brokerage files
  • Research and provide recommendations on workflow improvements
  • Assist in planning, executing, and reporting on internal audit projects
  • Ensure compliance with personal insurance workflows and processes
  • Review insurer audit findings and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with senior auditors, trainers, and leaders within the organization
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of personal insurance experience
  • RIBO License or ability to obtain
  • CAIB or CIP designation an asset
  • Experience in auditing operational processes to ensure effective compliance and quality
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to summarize audit results in clear, concise, understandable language
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and email required
  • Experience using EPIC, an Applied Systems broker management application an asset
