Position Overview

D&J Glassess Truck & Trailer Service Ltd. is seeking a skilled Automotive Paint Specialist to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in vehicle body refinishing and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 to 3 years in a similar role
Work Environment

The work site may be characterized by:

  • Dusty conditions
  • High noise levels
  • Presence of various odours
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Estimating repair costs based on damage assessments
  • Inspecting vehicles post-repair
  • Planning and executing repair tasks
  • Conducting test drives to ensure proper vehicle handling
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace
  • Instructing apprentices in body repair techniques
  • Replacing and repairing various vehicle components
  • Preparing surfaces for painting through sanding and masking
  • Repairing dents and imperfections using appropriate tools
  • Installing replacement parts as needed
  • Applying primers and paint to vehicle surfaces
  • Repairing or replacing interior components and glass
  • Mixing paint to achieve desired colours
  • Utilizing soldering equipment and fillers for repairs
  • Straightening frames using specialized equipment
