About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Drive Systems Manager to join our team at Arbutus Search Group. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong background in electrical power systems and drive technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Report to the President and uphold the organization's reputation through transparent interactions with customers and departments, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Oversee the department's budget preparation, reporting, and resource allocation.
  • Enhance the company's capabilities in servicing, commissioning, and testing Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV) Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Soft Starters, and Power Electronic Equipment.
  • Develop procedures and standards to ensure a high level of drive servicing, commissioning, and startup.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to provide expert technical advice on drives and power systems.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals.
  • Deliver in-house technical training to keep technical staff up-to-date with the latest drive technology.
  • Supervise, direct, and motivate team members, monitoring their performance against department and company goals.
  • Ensure team members are complying with company policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 7 years of recent progressive experience with medium and low voltage drives, motor control centers, soft starters, and electrical power devices.
  • 5+ years of management experience or equivalent in team and project supervision.
  • 2+ years of sales experience in heavy industries such as ports and terminals preferred.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation abilities.
Compensation

$115-$125k + 12k bonus
