Job Summary

The Computer Network Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Maintenance and Administration
    • Maintain and administer the use of LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
    • Troubleshoot network issues and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation and Installation
    • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software
  • Problem-Solving and Support
    • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Data Backup and Recovery
    • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Network Setup and Configuration
    • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field
