Job Title: Dispatcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Dispatcher to join our team at Gate Gourmet Canada. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our flight kitchen located on the grounds of Vancouver Airport in Richmond, Vancouver, British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage delivery driver routes and service paths to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to our customers.
  • Coordinate load planning in accordance with customer specifications and needs to ensure accurate and efficient delivery.
  • Distribute workloads to delivery drivers to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from drivers, supervisors, and related parties via telephones or two-way radios.
  • Problem solve and coordinate the communication process for overages, shortages, and damaged items.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work assigned schedule, including multiple shifts (days/afternoons/nights), weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to arrive to work on-time.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Complete paperwork.
  • Communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Follow directions.
  • Work as a member of a team.
Environmental Requirements:
  • Will be exposed to extreme temperature changes and noise.
  • May work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Subject to cold temperatures (ranging from +10 degrees Celsius to at or below 0-degrees Celsius).
  • Subject to hot temperatures.
  • Works with chemicals and industrial cleaning materials.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment, and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts.
