Position Overview:
CGS Federal is in search of a dedicated Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with expertise in DIACAP and/or RMF methodologies. This role is crucial for ensuring the security and compliance of systems within the Department of Commerce, particularly in achieving their Authorization to Operate (ATO).
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements.
- Oversee organizational cybersecurity risks, prioritizing and documenting them for senior management review.
- Provide expert guidance on security policies and compliance with NIST standards.
- Manage configuration changes in collaboration with security personnel and assess their impact on system security.
- Ensure compliance with vulnerability scanning tools and manage patch updates across systems.
- Facilitate the transition from legacy security processes to current RMF standards.
- Deliver subject matter expertise in cybersecurity and trusted systems.
- Analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions based on advanced technical knowledge.
- Draft and review security documentation, including risk assessments and security evaluation reports.
- Support the development of mitigation strategies based on security findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- At least five years of experience in roles such as Information Assurance Analyst or similar, with a focus on ATO documentation.
- Experience with eMASS and relevant security certifications (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, CompTIA Security+).
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of advanced certifications such as CISSP or CASP.
- Master's Degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
