Colas Western Canada Inc. also acts as a general contractor on civil construction projects, including excavation, utilities, concrete placement, sidewalks, and curbs.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Labourer to join our team at Terus Construction, a subsidiary of Colas Western Canada Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general laborer duties associated with road construction, including shoveling, raking, and handling small tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general laborer duties associated with road construction.
  • Shovel, rake, and handle small tools as required.
  • Operate equipment as needed.
  • Clean up equipment as needed.
  • May be called upon to run small power tools.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
  • Assist in the placement, moving, and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones, and other traffic control devices.
  • Follow instructions from your supervisor or manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience on a road construction crew is an asset.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
  • Exposure to dust and asphalt is possible.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment is required.
  • Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
