Essential Skills
- Proven experience in designing Layer 3 Spine and Leaf data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP EVPN.
- In-depth knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN Controllers, and WAPs.
- Expertise in managing next-generation firewalls, particularly with Fortinet's security solutions.
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure as it pertains to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Additional proficiency in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Skilled in configuring and managing load balancers.
- Strong grasp of network security best practices and their implementation.
- Demonstrated success in deploying network technologies within organizational projects.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills in multi-disciplinary project environments.
- Thorough comprehension of enterprise-level networks and the integration of on-premises with cloud environments.
- Experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes.
- Relevant professional experience in North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network to ensure its continuous and efficient operation.
- Develop strategic plans for the evolution of network devices, aligning with current and future business needs.
- Provide expert-level technical support and engineering for all network devices to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor and enhance network performance, quickly resolving any system issues to maintain high availability.
- Oversee network disaster recovery processes, including planning, implementation, maintenance, and testing.
- Engage with corporate and field employees to address technology concerns and escalate complex issues as necessary.
- Implement updates to network equipment in accordance with established protocols to ensure ongoing security and functionality.
- Maintain system integrity through effective change control and problem management procedures.
- Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and industry developments to maintain a high level of expertise.
- Contribute to departmental goals by organizing work processes and fostering effective teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in all responsibilities.
- Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights to drive collective success.
- Collaborate across diverse teams to develop scalable and adaptable network solutions.
- Represent the Digital Technology & Security department with a commitment to strategic goals and objectives.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent, practical experience in network administration and design/architecture.
- Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License or equivalent.
- Ability to work full-time on-site.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Availability for on-call duties on a rotational basis.
