Position Overview

Essential Skills

  1. Proven experience in designing Layer 3 Spine and Leaf data center networks utilizing VXLAN with BGP EVPN.
  2. In-depth knowledge of BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
  3. Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco networking hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN Controllers, and WAPs.
  4. Expertise in managing next-generation firewalls, particularly with Fortinet's security solutions.
  5. Advanced understanding of Microsoft Azure as it pertains to Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
  6. Additional proficiency in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  7. Skilled in configuring and managing load balancers.
  8. Strong grasp of network security best practices and their implementation.
  9. Demonstrated success in deploying network technologies within organizational projects.
  10. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills in multi-disciplinary project environments.
  11. Thorough comprehension of enterprise-level networks and the integration of on-premises with cloud environments.
  12. Experience with LTE and satellite communication technologies is a plus.
  13. Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and Change Management processes.
  14. Relevant professional experience in North America.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Administer, implement, troubleshoot, and document the enterprise network to ensure its continuous and efficient operation.
  2. Develop strategic plans for the evolution of network devices, aligning with current and future business needs.
  3. Provide expert-level technical support and engineering for all network devices to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Monitor and enhance network performance, quickly resolving any system issues to maintain high availability.
  5. Oversee network disaster recovery processes, including planning, implementation, maintenance, and testing.
  6. Engage with corporate and field employees to address technology concerns and escalate complex issues as necessary.
  7. Implement updates to network equipment in accordance with established protocols to ensure ongoing security and functionality.
  8. Maintain system integrity through effective change control and problem management procedures.
  9. Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and industry developments to maintain a high level of expertise.
  10. Contribute to departmental goals by organizing work processes and fostering effective teamwork.
  11. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in all responsibilities.
  12. Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights to drive collective success.
  13. Collaborate across diverse teams to develop scalable and adaptable network solutions.
  14. Represent the Digital Technology & Security department with a commitment to strategic goals and objectives.

Mandatory Qualifications

  1. Minimum of five (5) years of recent, practical experience in network administration and design/architecture.
  2. Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License or equivalent.
  3. Ability to work full-time on-site.
  4. Willingness to travel as required.
  5. Availability for on-call duties on a rotational basis.
