Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team at the Slave Lake Family Care Clinic. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide mental health services to clients across the age continuum, presenting with a variety of mental illnesses. You will work collaboratively with a dynamic multidisciplinary team to provide primary care services to the community of Slave Lake.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide evidence-informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management, and treatment.

• Use a variety of treatment modalities, including individual, family, and group therapy, to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing, with training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy.

• Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

• Three years' experience working with people experiencing mental illness and mental disorders.

• Previous work experience in rural Mental Health and experience working with Aboriginal populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Non-violent crisis intervention certification.

• Suicide assessment training.

• Experience with DSM-IV is an asset.
