Key Responsibilities
Enhance technical proficiency in areas such as compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and taxation Acquire and apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and/or Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) Organize files for new clients and newly established businesses, manage multiple files concurrently, and conduct inventory assessments Execute accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset transactions, and payroll processes with clients professionally Summarize current financial conditions by gathering data and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other pertinent reports Evaluate the adequacy of audit evidence concerning expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses Investigate and rectify discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts Draft correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations that outline engagement findings and highlights Collaborate with the client engagement team and cultivate relationships with client contacts Contribute to the development of innovative ideas and strategies to enhance work processes while effectively utilizing MNP's internal programs and systems Maintain the flexibility to travel as requiredRequired Skills and Experience
Completion of, or progress towards, a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (preferably with a focus on accounting or finance) Completion of, or progress towards, prerequisites for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) upon starting employment Previous experience in an accounting-related office environment is advantageous Experience in customer service and/or client service is beneficial Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset
