Key Responsibilities


• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with customers in person.


• Efficiently sort, collect, and deliver mail items in a safe and timely manner.


• Develop and retain knowledge of local routes, customers, and delivery points.


• Ensure the secure handling of mail during delivery.

Additional Responsibilities

Manage various Canada Post products and services (e.g., Change of Address Notification, Damaged Mail, Items Delivered Bill). Display Canada Post identification visibly while delivering and collecting mail. Lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lb/22.7 kg. Demonstrate experience in making deliveries and operating a vehicle under various weather and traffic conditions.

Vehicle Requirements
(*Note: Vehicle specifications for On-call Relief positions may vary based on postal installation routes.)

Maintain a satisfactory driving record. Hold a valid provincial driver's license - class 5 or G. Ensure a minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1415 liters). Automatic transmission required. Power windows are preferred. A metal roof and accessory power outlet for Canada Post signage and lights are required. The middle of the passenger window sill must be between 38" and 45" from the ground, with a maximum interior width of 56". A fifth door or hatchback is preferred for loading oversized items. Provide and maintain necessary automobile liability insurance. Inform your insurance provider of vehicle use while employed at Canada Post.
