Job Summary

The Personal Support Worker is a vital member of the home care team at Qualicare, Orillia/Barrie. Under the supervision of the Care Coordinator, this role performs various personal care services to meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care and Hygiene: Assist clients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals for clients, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and comfortable living environment for clients, including laundry, cleaning, and organization.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, engaging in activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
  • Transportation: Safely transport clients to appointments, outings, and other destinations, as needed.
  • Medication Management: Assist clients with medication reminders, administration, and tracking.
  • Documentation: Accurately document client care plans, progress notes, and other relevant information.
Qualifications
  • Certification: Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student).
  • Training: Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain.
  • Health Requirements: Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
  • Travel: Ability to travel around the location territory.
  • Technology: Access to Internet/mobile phone.
