Position Overview:
We are thrilled to announce an opening for an Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role will serve as the key point of contact for strategic management decisions within the branch. The Operations Supervisor will ensure adherence to all administrative policies, procedures, safety regulations, and governmental guidelines. Below is a comprehensive outline of the essential duties, responsibilities, and expectations associated with this position.
As an Operations Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by focusing on safety, leadership, excellence, self-motivation, collaboration, innovative problem-solving, and teamwork. You will foster a positive workplace culture through real-time observations and constructive feedback.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall planning, organization, and operations of the branch, managing all operational functions including safety, order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, returns, and receiving.
- Monitor workflow throughout the facility, addressing any unusual delays or issues and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to productivity and delivery objectives for the branch.
- Utilize software, data, and analytics to enhance operations, track productivity metrics, and proactively resolve issues.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between departments, distribution centers, and customers. Conduct various meetings to align warehouse activities and address operational challenges.
- Ensure that all operational objectives, goals, and performance standards are clearly communicated and upheld throughout the branch.
- Manage operational expenses to remain within budgetary constraints.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, sharing best practices with team members while ensuring compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Establish appropriate work schedules and staffing levels, minimizing the need for overtime labor.
- Ensure the availability of effective training programs for both new and existing employees.
- Encourage teamwork and motivate staff, emphasizing accuracy and timeliness while fostering collaboration.
- Communicate and embody company values and culture through actions and verbal instructions to all team members.
- Oversee basic human resource functions, including interviewing candidates, maintaining staffing levels, onboarding new hires, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Ensure adherence to safe operating procedures and maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or their designee.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent management experience is required.
- Three to five years of management experience in warehousing, freight, and logistics (both domestic and international) is essential; experience in a multi-unit environment is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to navigate unexpected challenges, focusing on goals and solutions; must be capable of motivating and influencing others.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with a talent for engaging and inspiring team members.
- Familiarity with Epicor P21 (Enterprise Resource Planning System) is advantageous.
- Ability to operate a forklift is required.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory; additional languages are a plus.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with a knack for meeting deadlines and adapting to shifting priorities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and implementation skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
- Knowledge or experience in the global industrial and automotive parts marketplace is a plus.
