Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As a key member of our educational team, you will work collaboratively with teachers to provide high-quality, play-based education to support the enhanced learning and cognitive, emotional, and social development of Junior and Senior Kindergarten students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in collaboration with classroom teachers to design and implement play-based educational programs that promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students.
  • Lead extended programs, including before and after-school activities, for OCDSB students at designated elementary schools.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in early childhood education and implement innovative strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals and promote a culture of excellence in education.
Requirements
  • Completed a two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • A minimum of one year of child care experience.
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR.
  • Immunization Record with proof of MMR and Tdap immunizations.
  • Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector Check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
