Position Overview:
This role is based on-site.
- Possession of a certificate or diploma in Human Resources Management is essential.
- CHRP designation is highly desirable.
- A minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources is mandatory.
- Demonstrated expertise in recruitment and employee retention is required.
- Experience in benefits administration is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or unionized environment is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of work are crucial.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism is essential.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills are required, along with the ability to interact positively with a diverse range of individuals and work effectively with minimal supervision.
- Proficient computer skills are necessary.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Commitment to patient care, safety, and service excellence is vital.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (two or more doses) is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the complete recruitment process, including preparing and posting job openings, sourcing candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, performing reference checks, and drafting employment letters.
- Attract candidates through innovative sourcing strategies, identifying potential applicant sources, conducting advertising campaigns, building relationships with referral sources, and creating informative materials for candidates.
- Support student co-op placements.
- Participate in job fairs as necessary.
- Facilitate employee transitions within the organization (new hires, transfers, separations).
- Monitor temporary assignments within the organization.
- Collaborate with the HR Director on policy review and development.
- Assist in preparation for negotiations, grievance management, and labor relations meetings.
- Prepare HR metrics and indicators as needed.
- Ensure job descriptions are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Coordinate the Tuition Assistance Program.
- Compile monthly employee activity statistics.
- Assist in completing and submitting various surveys.
- Oversee pension and benefits administration.
- Support service recognition programs.
- Track excess hours and overtime averaging documentation as required.
- Provide interpretation of the Collective Agreement to managers and employees.
- Assist with the implementation of a new HRIS system.
