SUMMARY:
The Assistant Store Operations Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager with the daily oversight of store functions. This includes driving sales growth, managing staff, optimizing merchandising strategies, controlling expenses, ensuring a safe environment for both employees and customers, and delivering an exceptional shopping experience.
The Assistant Store Operations Manager is responsible for adhering to established company policies, governmental regulations, and collective agreements.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with the Store Manager to meet or surpass weekly, monthly, and annual store performance goals, including sales, profit margins, shrinkage, and labor efficiency.
- Partners with the Store Manager to execute various merchandising initiatives, procedures, and processes aimed at maximizing operational efficiency and store profitability.
- Works alongside Department Managers to set productivity benchmarks and operational standards, ensuring that merchandise is ordered and displayed according to company guidelines.
- Guarantees that the store complies with all health and safety regulations as mandated by the company and relevant authorities.
- Provides leadership by recruiting, training, guiding, and developing a customer-centric team, ensuring that all actions contribute to a welcoming shopping atmosphere.
- Actively engages with new technological initiatives, ensuring proficiency for both self and staff.
- Monitors competitive activities within the local market and provides insights to management to address competitive challenges.
- Participates in community engagement initiatives to enhance the store's reputation as a supporter of local activities.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with vendors and union representatives.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive management experience.
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
