Key Responsibilities:
Property Management Duties:
- Conduct daily inspections of common areas, including parking lots, sidewalks, signage, and washrooms, reporting any issues to the Regional Director;
- Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of on-site contractors, including janitorial and security services;
- Document incidents and assist with insurance claims as needed;
- Support marketing events as assigned;
- Efficiently manage mail and rental payment collections;
- Address tenant inquiries and complaints professionally and courteously;
- Provide access to vacant units and conduct tours for prospective tenants;
- Utilize technology proficiently (Email, Excel, Word, Angus).
Maintenance and Operations Duties:
- Perform cleaning and janitorial tasks throughout the facility, including the parking area;
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of mechanical and storage rooms;
- Adhere to WHMIS procedures and maintain compliance;
- Keep a maintenance log detailing work performed and daily conditions;
- Be available for on-call duties and respond to emergencies as required;
- Maintain records of Fire System inspections on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis;
- Schedule and oversee preventative maintenance;
- Coordinate with contractors, ensuring access and monitoring work;
- Conduct insurance and risk management inspections and necessary remedial work;
- Regularly inspect the building, equipment, and HVAC systems, reporting deficiencies to the Regional Director;
- Carry out minor repairs, including lighting, painting, plumbing, and carpentry as needed;
- Assist with marketing and leasing setups for events as required;
- Support the preparation of scopes of work, tendering, and contract administration for projects;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years in business administration.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication abilities; capable of building and maintaining relationships with management, contractors, tenants, and the public.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time effectively, work under pressure, and handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proficient in resolving issues using logical reasoning and strategic approaches.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Background Check: A criminal verification check is required for employment.
Compensation: The expected pay rate ranges from $28 to $35 per hour, reflecting the primary location for the role. BentallGreenOak values employee contributions, and our compensation structure may vary based on geographical location, experience, skills, and qualifications.
