About the Position

As a Technical Business Analyst at Koho Financial Inc, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategies and controls aimed at mitigating fraud risk. This position demands a strong background in data management, including the design and application of data through technical tools and modeling techniques. You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Fraud Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing and prospective controls, assessing their impact on customers, revenue, and potential losses through comprehensive data analysis and modeling, followed by implementation.
  • Engage in the ongoing design and enhancement of our fraud detection models and systems.
  • Analyze the various fraud patterns encountered by Koho and formulate actions to counteract them, ensuring a balance between security and customer experience.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through automation.
  • Embody and promote the core values of Koho in interactions with both internal teams and external partners or vendors.
Candidate Profile
  • You approach challenges by first understanding the underlying issues, asking 'why', and identifying the necessary data to uncover root causes.
  • You are not confined by your previous roles or experiences; you actively seek out new tools and methodologies, sharing your discoveries with the team.
  • You are committed to mentoring your colleagues, particularly those who are less experienced, and strive to elevate the capabilities of those around you.
  • Proficient in SQL and Python, with robust skills in reporting and data visualization, including experience with Sisense. Familiarity with JavaScript is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS Redshift, Sagemaker, and Github is advantageous.
  • You possess a strong background in analyzing transactional and user data to refine fraud detection rules and models.
  • You have knowledge of fraud prevention platforms and an understanding of the fraud risks associated with payment systems and banking.
  • You are adept at collaborating with third-party vendors to maximize the effectiveness of their fraud prevention solutions.
  • You are comfortable managing cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and effectively communicating through presentations.
