About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to join our team at Nicholas O'Dwyer. As a key member of our infrastructure engineering team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and delivering infrastructure projects across the UK, Ireland, and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare feasibility studies, route selections, and concept design reports.
  • Develop detailed designs, including drawings, calculations, and reports.
  • Prepare technical specifications and contract documents for main works and investigation contracts.
  • Evaluate tenders and manage procurement processes.
  • Obtain statutory approvals, including planning permissions and land acquisition.
  • Administer construction stage contracts.
  • Develop project plans, including budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
  • Perform site visits and inspections to monitor project progress.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Monitor and control project costs, including tracking expenses and managing change orders.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
Requirements:

We are looking for a Chartered Engineer or member of a professional body working towards achieving Chartership status. You should have a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience in consulting engineers or equivalent. You must be willing to work on a variety of civil engineering projects across the island of Ireland and the UK.

You should have excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet project milestones. Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is also essential. Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and regulations is required.
