In the role of Senior Embedded Solutions Engineer - Silicon and ODM Collaborations, you will be part of a highly proficient Field Engineering Organization, collaborating directly with our Global Partnerships team to facilitate platform modernization for our partners through the adoption of Wind River's Edge Operating Systems.
Key Responsibilities- Understand Client Needs: Cultivate strong relationships with technical leaders at key Wind River partners to comprehend their requirements, current obstacles, business objectives, and forthcoming product developments.
- Illustrate Potential Solutions: Develop compelling narratives to assist clients in recognizing the advantages of a modernized, edge-native platform.
- Serve as a Trusted Advisor: Utilize your expertise and connections to guide partners in crafting effective solutions.
- Design Technical Solutions: Conduct workshops and architectural design sessions to explore methods for transforming partners' intelligent edge products.
- Advocate for Partner Needs: Collaborate with colleagues to articulate cohesive product requirements and identify long-term strategic goals.
- Foster a Collaborative Team Environment: Emphasize personal development and drive overall maturity within the organization.
- Extensive experience in embedded systems development and deployment methodologies across general-purpose and real-time operating systems.
- Proven technical expertise in Linux, with a comprehensive understanding of the kernel, system and service managers, containers, and software packaging.
- Knowledge of best practices regarding edge security hardening and operational management of embedded Linux devices.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
- BSc / MSc degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with Linux, including major distributions and embedded Linux.
- 5+ years of experience in edge solution architecture and customer-facing projects.
- Previous experience with VxWorks and Wind River Linux is preferred.
The annual base salary range for this position is currently $142,900 to $228,300 plus bonus for residents in certain states; and $150,000 to $195,000 plus bonus for residents in California and Washington. Employees in this role are also eligible for health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flexible time off, 401k, and paid holidays.
