Drywall Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Industrial Machine Tool Service Ltd. as a key member of our construction team.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
• Clean and prepare surfaces for installation, including cutting and fitting drywall sheets to meet precise specifications.
• Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, positioning and securing them to metal or wooden studs or joists.
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry, ensuring a professional finish.
• Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless finish.
• Estimate costs and materials for projects, taking into account factors such as labor, equipment, and materials.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms as needed.

Requirements

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation or a related field.
• Equivalent experience may be considered.
• Ability to work at heights, in dusty and noisy environments.
• Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and ability to work in a team environment.
• Reliability, dependability, and flexibility to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of quality in work.
• Client focus, judgement, and team player skills.

Work Environment

This role will involve working in a variety of settings, including commercial and residential locations, and may require working in employer's/client's home.
