About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Information Advisor to join our Financial Governance & Accounting team at ICBC. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing expert financial guidance and support to senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Accounting and Reporting: Provide high-quality, accurate, and timely financial accounting and reporting, both internally and externally.
  • Financial Modeling and Analysis: Create and maintain various high-value financial models and reports, including reporting for Claims Incurred and Provision for Unpaid Claims.
  • Year-end Financial Statement Notes: Prepare and review critical Year-end Financial Statement Notes.
  • Commodity Tax Research and Advisory: Provide commodity tax research and advisory services.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance our financial processes and systems.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical advice and direction to analytical support staff.
Requirements
  • Education and Designation: Ideally, your post-secondary education is complemented by designation with the Chartered Professional Accountants of BC (CPABC) along with work experience in a large organization.
  • Technical Skills: You have expert knowledge of Excel and experience with large data volumes (data extraction, pivot tables, v-lookup, and functions).
  • Accounting Principles and Practices: You have sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices (IFRS), critical thinking skills, and the ability to make sound judgments in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • ERP Systems and Applications: Your working knowledge of ERP computer systems, data warehouses, and applications (ideally SAP) would be an asset.
