Plumbing Design Specialist

Lar-Mex Inc. is seeking a skilled Plumbing Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating effective plumbing and drainage systems for commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain specifications from clients and produce plumbing designs using CAD systems or other tools.
- Create schematics and support construction personnel in turning the plumbing design into reality.
- Prepare electronic drawings with accuracy, neatness, and efficiency using industry software.
- Identify issues with designs and communicate issues with senior designers and engineers as they arise.
- Assist in the development of design approaches and concepts on assigned projects with assistance from senior design staff.
- Process drawings received from the architect into models that can be used by the design team.
- Communicate with team members, project managers, other disciplines, and outside vendors to obtain necessary information on drawings.
- Visually review plans for defects in design work.
- Conduct site visits to ensure accuracy of drawings.
- Assist in data collection and/or field verification.
- Assist in the studies, load calculation, and selection of equipment to fit the project design.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of team members.
- Assist with the upkeep of project design and construction files.
- Implement design requirements as related by design team.
- Maintain a continued focus on keeping up with code requirements, design software, and other industry trends.
- Minimum 3 years of plumbing design experience in the mechanical consulting industry.
- Knowledge of building materials, construction methods, building codes and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience using Revit, CAD, MS Office is an asset.
- Working knowledge of various Building, Plumbing, Fire, Energy Conservation, and Fuel Gas codes.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or Plumbing engineering from an accredited college or university is a strong asset.
