Job Title: Team Editor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Editor to join our Editorial Department at the Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd. This is a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of journalists and editors to produce high-quality content for our readers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement content strategies to engage our audience and drive subscriptions
  • Collaborate with editors, writers, and designers to produce compelling and accurate content
  • Manage the daily news file and ensure timely publication of articles and other content
  • Supervise and mentor junior editors and writers to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in journalism and content production
Requirements:
  • Advanced journalism skills with a broad knowledge of local, national, and international issues
  • Strong editing and writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality content
  • Experience in managing breaking news files and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
