About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Care Assistant to join our team at Private Home MM Family. As a Home Care Assistant, you will provide personalized support to our clients, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Assist clients with bathing, dressing, and other aspects of personal hygiene
  • Encourage regular exercise, such as walking, to promote physical and mental well-being
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, considering dietary needs and preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
  • Provide companionship and engage in activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation
  • Shop for groceries and household essentials, ensuring clients have access to necessary items
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work in a non-smoking environment
  • Urban area work setting
  • Physical capabilities: bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, repetitive tasks, sitting, and walking
  • Weight handling: up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
  • Personal suitability: punctuality, client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, patience, and honesty
Work Environment

Our clients reside in urban areas, and we require our Home Care Assistants to be comfortable working in these environments.

Language

We welcome applications from individuals who are fluent in English or French.

Work Hours

This is a temporary position, requiring 40 hours of work per week.
