Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our field operations team in Cambridge Bay. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining a wide range of telecommunications services, including TV, Internet, Wireless, Voice, and Data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain telecommunications equipment and associated wiring/fiber.
  • Organize, develop, plan, and document all on-site work to the customer's satisfaction, which may involve coordinating work with other employees and training customers.
  • Represent the company through direct contact with customers, explaining company equipment and services as necessary.
  • Climb poles, use ladders, operate vehicular equipment, power tools, and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Use company-provided laptop and cell phone as tools to complete day-to-day work.
  • Shift work and travel are required.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a related technical diploma program from a recognized technical college or school, or equivalent telecommunications experience.
  • Valid driver's license, minimum Class 5, with a clean driver's abstract.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to continuous change.
  • Physical ability to carry extension ladders long distances and lift and move up to 23 kilograms (51 pounds).
  • Good organizational and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Pre-employment tests and/or work simulation exercises may be required as part of the recruitment process.
