Position Overview:
The DeGroote School of Business is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Teaching Assistant within the Marketing area. This position is integral to the academic experience, providing essential support to both faculty and students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitation of Learning: Conduct tutorials, oversee laboratory sessions, and supervise field trips to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Preparation: Engage in preparatory activities including reading course materials, attending lectures, and collaborating with instructors to ensure a comprehensive grasp of course content.
- Student Interaction: Provide consultation to students through emails and designated office hours, fostering an environment of support and accessibility.
- Examination Oversight: Assist in invigilating assessments to maintain academic integrity.
- Evaluation: Participate in grading assignments and entering marks, contributing to the assessment of student performance.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the department, which may include attending specific classes as per the course timetable.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a strong academic background in Marketing or a related field, with a minimum grade of A- in relevant courses. Preference will be given to candidates pursuing a PhD in Marketing.
Compensation:
The wage rate for this position varies based on classification, with Class A at $49.52 and Class B at $29.98.
Note: Not all courses will have teaching assistants assigned, as this is contingent upon budgetary and enrollment considerations. Required courses with tutorial sections will receive priority.
