Job Summary

As a Heavy Equipment Operator with the Fort McKay Group of Companies LP, you will play a critical role in supporting the project team lead and general foreman in achieving project goals and objectives. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment/pre-access testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including dozers, in a safe and efficient manner to meet operational deadlines.
  • Regulate the height and angle of the blade to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and walk-around inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Operate dozers on various surfaces, including reclamation, ditching, sloping, levelling, ripping, pushing piles, and rough to final grading.
  • Work in close proximity to other vehicles, ground personnel, and utilities while operating heavy equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and report any maintenance required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, wear/maintain personal protective equipment, and complete field-level hazard assessments.
  • Assist labourers or other operators as needed.
  • Perform additional construction duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license required.
  • 3-year driver's abstract required.
  • Experience with D8 to D10 dozers required.
  • CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO certification required.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required.
