The Canadian Armed Forces is seeking highly skilled Cyber Operators to join our team. As a Cyber Operator, you will play a critical role in defending our computer networks and systems against cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, process, and analyze network data to identify potential security risks
- Manage and maintain computer network environments to ensure optimal performance and security
- Conduct defensive and active cyber operations to protect against cyber threats
- Apply security and communications knowledge to ensure the integrity of our computer systems
- Use and maintain classified and unclassified records and publications
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Be at least 18 years old (17 years old with parental consent)
- Have completed at least Grade 10 or Secondaire IV in Québec
Cyber Operators work in a high-security environment, handling sensitive information and working with restricted-access facilities. They may be required to work shift work, but also have opportunities for regular business hours. Cyber Operators serve in various environments, including sea, land, and air, and may be deployed on operations around the world.
Training and DevelopmentCyber Operators undergo rigorous training, including the Basic Military Qualification course and the Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics course. They may also have opportunities for advanced training and career progression.
EducationThe minimum required education to apply for this position is a Secondary high school graduation diploma, Secondary 5 in Quebec, or equivalency, including Grade 12 Applied Math or Math 526 / SN 5/TS 5 in Quebec, or Grade 12 or Secondary 5 with Computer Studies, Computer Science, or Programming.
