Salary: The compensation range for this role is CAD $49 to CAD $63.

Position Overview: Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Chronic Disease Services team. This role is based in West Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and apply specialized knowledge to enhance the delivery of safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, offering consultation and support to the interdisciplinary care team, other healthcare professionals, and students.
  • Promote excellence in patient-centered care, education, and research initiatives.
  • Engage in direct patient and family care as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Completion of a post-basic specialty nursing program and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the specialized clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for local travel may be required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership and guidance.
  • Knowledge of various healthcare disciplines and their roles in patient care.
  • Understanding of Trauma-Informed Practice, Harm Reduction approaches, and Strengths-based care.
  • Proven ability to deliver competent and culturally safe care across diverse settings and populations.
  • Expertise in assessment and treatment techniques for specialized patient populations, utilizing evidence-informed practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement educational programs and materials for staff, patients, and families based on educational theories and best practices.
  • Proficient in CPR techniques and computer literacy for operating client care information systems and relevant software applications.

Work Environment: This position is affiliated with the North Shore Diabetes Education Centre, requiring clinical experience with clients of all ages in the prevention and management of diabetes.
