Salary: The compensation range for this role is CAD $49 to CAD $63.
Position Overview: Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Chronic Disease Services team. This role is based in West Vancouver, BC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and apply specialized knowledge to enhance the delivery of safe, ethical, and high-quality patient care.
- Serve as a clinical resource, offering consultation and support to the interdisciplinary care team, other healthcare professionals, and students.
- Promote excellence in patient-centered care, education, and research initiatives.
- Engage in direct patient and family care as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of a post-basic specialty nursing program and a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the specialized clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for local travel may be required.
Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership and guidance.
- Knowledge of various healthcare disciplines and their roles in patient care.
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Practice, Harm Reduction approaches, and Strengths-based care.
- Proven ability to deliver competent and culturally safe care across diverse settings and populations.
- Expertise in assessment and treatment techniques for specialized patient populations, utilizing evidence-informed practices.
- Ability to develop and implement educational programs and materials for staff, patients, and families based on educational theories and best practices.
- Proficient in CPR techniques and computer literacy for operating client care information systems and relevant software applications.
Work Environment: This position is affiliated with the North Shore Diabetes Education Centre, requiring clinical experience with clients of all ages in the prevention and management of diabetes.
