The Director, Financial Services (Operations and Systems) plays a pivotal role in leading the Accounting Services and Financial Systems teams within the Finance department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Accounting Services and Financial Systems teams.
- Oversee accounting services, including cash management, banking, accounts receivable, collections, and accounts payable.
- Maintain and develop integrated financial information systems, ensuring seamless operations and efficient data management.
- Train finance and related staff on system usage, ensuring effective adoption and utilization.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive senior experience in general accounting, budgeting, reporting, systems, audit, and leadership.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting procedures and financial reporting practices.
- Experience in managing and maintaining systems in a computerized, centralized environment.
- Strong interpersonal, supervisory, and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Proven ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, confidentiality, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong computer skills, proficiency with spreadsheet programs, and ability to use various financial software packages and databases.
