Job Title: Assistant General Counsel, Regulatory Affairs

We are seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to join our Legal Affairs team at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the bank's corporate functions and providing legal advice to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Legal Affairs Special Projects Office and oversee the implementation of strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate emerging legal and regulatory risks, providing proactive advice and influencing strategic decision-making at all levels of BDC.
  • Set Legal Affairs' priorities and oversee the team of lawyers responsible for providing legal advice to BDC's corporate functions.
Qualifications:
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in a sophisticated business environment, including team management experience.
  • Member of the Bar of Quebec or another province.
  • Fluency in French is a prerequisite.
