QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and Experience

Completion of a recognized nursing program or proof of an equivalent mix of education, training, and experience is essential. Certification from the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) in the relevant specialty or service area is mandatory, or evidence of an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN is required. A minimum of three years of recent relevant experience in the field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is necessary.

For positions in Renal Transplant, three years of recent relevant experience is required, including two (2) years in transplant services. Additionally, current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, comprehensive knowledge of nursing theories, and evidence-based best practices for organ transplant care are required, along with a valid BC driver's license.

Positions in the Liver Care Clinic necessitate four (4) years of recent relevant experience (including education and training) in liver disease, behavioral counseling, and chronic disease management. Experience in Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU), palliative care, community care, outpatient, and/or emergency medicine is preferred.

  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of internal and external contacts, including colleagues, physicians, community agencies, representatives, patients, clients, residents, and families.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 vehicle license.
