Jr. Naval Architect Engineer Job Description

Fleetway Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Jr. Naval Architect Engineer to join our team. As a Jr. Naval Architect Engineer, you will be responsible for developing 3D models and 2D drawings of ship equipment and compartment arrangements, as well as performing structural design and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing technical studies, drawings, and specifications for government and commercial vessels
  • Report writing and equipment selection
  • Performing structural design and analysis
  • Incorporating Engineering Changes into existing designs
  • Working on systems integration projects
  • Conducting engineering analyses such as finite element analysis, weights, or stability (GHS)
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree / Naval Architecture Diploma
  • 1-5+ years proven hands-on experience in 2D drafting, 3D modeling, and engineering design/integration projects
  • Proficient in Microstation and/or AutoCAD
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite – including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Rhino or other 3D modeling software would be considered an asset
  • Marine industry experience a requirement
  • Naval Warship engineering design experience is considered an asset
