Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will function as a clinician-educator, contributing to both clinical and educational missions while also supporting divisional and departmental research initiatives. Responsibilities include:
- Participating in the clinical duties of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Advancing the reputation of McMaster University and McMaster Children's Hospital through educational and research activities.
The Neonatal Division plays a vital role within McMaster Children's Hospital, serving as a pediatric regional referral center for a population exceeding 2.3 million in south central Ontario. Our facilities include:
- A 49-bed NICU, recognized as one of the largest level III units in Canada.
- A 14-bed level II unit, staffed by a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering comprehensive patient care.
We manage over 1300 newborn admissions annually, including more than 200 very low birth weight (VLBW) infants, covering a wide range of congenital malformations and non-cardiac post-surgical care.
QualificationsThis position entails an academic appointment, with rank and salary aligned with the applicant's experience and qualifications. Candidates must be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neonatology and must hold (or be eligible for) licensure in Ontario.
