About the Role

THURAM HEALTHCARE SERVICES INC is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer bedside and personal care to clients, ensuring their dignity and comfort are maintained at all times.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, promoting independence and dignity.
  • Assist in regular exercise, such as walking, to help clients maintain their physical mobility and well-being.
  • Change non-sterile dressings, following proper infection control procedures.
  • Feed or assist clients with feeding, ensuring their nutritional needs are met.
  • Launder clothing and household linens, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, ensuring the client's home remains safe and comfortable.
  • Plan therapeutic diets and menus, taking into account the client's nutritional needs and preferences.
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with daily living activities, such as toileting and grooming.
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals, promoting healthy eating habits.
Requirements
  • CPR Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and perform physical tasks as required
