Role Overview:
The Lead Tax Specialist will support the preparation and submission of Sales and Excise tax filings for both Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions. This role involves engaging in tax analysis, audits, and various departmental initiatives. This is a full-time role with the possibility of Hybrid work following the completion of necessary training.
Preferred locations for the successful candidate include Richmond, BC, Calgary, AB, or Milton, ON.
Salary: $55,000 base compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit Sales and Excise tax returns for both U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.
- Handle U.S. property tax filings.
- Compile tax working documents and reconciliations, addressing any discrepancies.
- Provide tax and audit assistance to Performance Food Group's distribution centers in both the U.S. and Canada.
- Prepare and process tax payment requests.
- Conduct necessary tax research and prepare relevant documentation.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with warehouse and corporate staff.
- Actively seek opportunities for process enhancements, data management improvements, and other efficiencies.
- Engage in Tax Department projects as assigned.
- Potential travel within Canada and the U.S. may be required.

- A solid work ethic and a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines across multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
- The capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
