Position Overview
We are currently seeking 2 Trainee Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to be part of our Apprentice AME program based in Edmonton. In this role, you will be integral to maintaining our fleet of H145 aircraft, ensuring they meet the highest safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute tasks as directed by the designated AME, adhering to STARS' Maintenance Control and Policy Manuals.
- Stay informed about Transport Canada regulations and ensure compliance with CARs, Airworthiness Directives, and Service Bulletins.
- Assist in conducting various maintenance activities related to STARS' aircraft.
- Verify that all components installed on aircraft are appropriately certified.
- Utilize engineering documentation, including work orders and manufacturers' maintenance instructions, to maintain aircraft effectively.
- Monitor aircraft system performance data and suggest corrective actions for any irregular trends to enhance reliability.
- Support the implementation of engineering modifications and retrofits in line with OEM service bulletins or other approved data.
- Report any quality control and safety concerns through the company's reporting systems.
- Practice safety protocols and utilize proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) while working in a hangar environment.
- Manage personal factors associated with aircraft maintenance, including pressure and fatigue.
- Engage in fundraising and public relations activities as needed.
- Contribute positively as a member of the STARS team.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary Technical Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance from a Transport Canada accredited institution.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and professionalism.
- Strong motivation to serve in the emergency medical services sector.
- Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to handle stressful situations effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Flexibility in adapting to various tasks.
Health & Safety Considerations
This role is classified as safety-sensitive. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment assessments, including Alcohol and Drug testing, Physical Fitness to Work evaluation, and Audiometric testing, along with proof of immunizations.
