**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team at Maple Ridge Volkswagen. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for performing vehicle repairs and maintenance work with efficiency and accuracy, ensuring the safety and reliability of our customers' vehicles.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance work as outlined on the repair order, adhering to dealership and OEM standards.
  • Communicate effectively with Parts and Service Advisors to manage production, cycle times, and customer communication.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections to make recommendations for repairs and ensure the safety and reliability of vehicles.
  • Document all work performed on the vehicle repair order, following OEM standards.
  • Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician's tools and keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  • Participate in factory-sponsored training classes and provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.

**Requirements**

  • Availability to work part-time hours, to be discussed at interview.
  • Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process.
  • Red Seal Certification would be beneficial.
  • Completion of a related post-secondary program and/or training courses.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving history.

**Work Conditions**

  • Indoor/outdoor shop environment with changing temperatures.
  • Regular exposure to fumes, dust/dirt, oil, grease, and noise from equipment operation.
  • Work around and operate machinery and other motorized equipment.
  • Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Manipulating hands and fingers to operate specialized tools and equipment.
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, turning, and twisting to reach vehicle parts.
  • Occasional carrying, pushing, or pulling boxes and other vehicle repair equipment.
  • Clarity of vision at varying distances in various color shades to observe diagnostic instruments and manuals.
  • Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.
