- Vehicle Operation: Operate and navigate straight or articulated trucks to transport materials effectively.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage systems.
- Communication: Relay important information to central dispatch to maintain operational efficiency.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo details, service hours, distance traveled, and fuel usage.
- Safety Measures: Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping and handling practices.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Licenses: Must possess an Air Brake (Z) Endorsement and a Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
- Familiarity with accident reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance records, and trip reports is essential.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle heavy loads, with a maximum weight of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Personal Attributes: Candidates should be organized, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
While prior experience is considered an asset, it is not mandatory. This is a permanent position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours per week, conducted in English.
