Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Survey Chief, you will:
- Facilitate partnerships and spearhead projects that enhance community engagement.
- Allocate resources to support festivals, arts organizations, and individual artists through various funding avenues.
- Provide expert consultation to governmental bodies and other organizations on arts-related matters.
- Raise awareness about the diverse and high-quality artistic expressions originating from Edmonton.
The EAC's mission is to connect, advocate, and invest in the arts community, ensuring that the arts play a vital role in the lives of Edmontonians. Our strategic framework, Connections & Exchanges, outlines our commitment to:
- Integrate culture, arts, and heritage into all aspects of civic life.
- Support cultural creators and interpreters.
- Expand audiences for arts and heritage.
This plan emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation, aiming to cultivate a flourishing cultural ecosystem that benefits all residents.
Community ImpactThe EAC's influence on the community is significant. By investing over $14 million in local artists and arts organizations, we ensure a thriving cultural landscape that enriches the lives of both residents and visitors. Our programs have:
- Supported 305 artists and collectives, along with 194 arts and festival organizations.
- Engaged 127 artists in 140 neighborhoods through various community events.
- Managed a diverse Public Art collection with ongoing projects.
The EAC collaborates closely with the City of Edmonton to integrate arts and culture into municipal planning, reinforcing our city’s reputation as a cultural hub. Our Board of Directors, composed of artists and community members, guides our governance and strategic direction.

- A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in complex organizations.
- A proven track record of working collaboratively with diverse communities.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and an understanding of the Edmonton arts landscape.
