About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Harbourstone Enhanced Care team in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our residents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Thoroughly cleaning common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and stairwells
  • Sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchens and bathrooms
  • Preparing vacant rooms for incoming residents
  • Collecting and disposing of refuse in accordance with set procedures
  • Cleaning and restocking housekeeping carts
  • Promoting a safety culture by identifying and reporting hazards, following safe work practices, and wearing personal protective equipment
About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Has a High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Is committed to completing housekeeping assignments efficiently and in a warm, friendly, and customer-service-oriented manner
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers to meet their needs
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision and safely use chemical cleaning agents and equipment
  • Has previous housekeeping experience (an asset)
  • Is passionate about the healthcare sector and ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care
