Job Summary

The Lake of the Woods District Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Team Lead to join our Emergency Department team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and guidance to our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and promoting a positive and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff in the Emergency Department
  • Collaborate with the Patient Care Manager and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and promote a positive and safe work environment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Current Certification in BLS and demonstrated ongoing competence through annual recertification
  • Current certification in ACLS or completion within 3 months of hire
  • Current completion of Canadian Triage Acuity Scale (CTAS) course
  • Maintain an active membership with National Emergency Nurses Association (NENA)
  • Current ENC(C) Certification or completion within 1 to 2 years of assuming the role and maintain the active certification
  • Current Certificate in TNCC, or completion when course is available
  • Certification in CPI in the last two years or completion when course is available
  • Current certification in ENPC or completion when the course is available
  • Current certification in PALS required when the course is available
  • Certification in IV Therapy with demonstrated ongoing competence
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a Critical Care Setting -Emergency Department is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and qualities with the ability to provide guidance and mentorship to staff
  • Demonstrated skill in critical thinking and problem solving
  • Demonstrated well-developed verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated competency in the skills of mediation, facilitation, negotiation, and delegation
  • Reliable attendance record
