Position Overview: Senior Specialist, Decision Analytics

Role Responsibilities

In the fast-paced realm of analytics and technology, the Analytics team at Colgate is at the forefront of driving growth and innovation. The CBS Analytics division focuses on high-impact business cases with significant potential for scalability, addressing critical business inquiries with actionable recommendations.

The Senior Specialist will spearhead CBS Analytics initiatives within the Analytics Continuum, developing predictive models, simulations, and optimization strategies aimed at achieving clear financial objectives. This role encompasses a variety of projects, including Revenue Growth Management, Market Effectiveness, and Forecasting, requiring independent relationship management with business stakeholders.

Key Qualifications
  • Expertise in leading analytics projects within the Analytics Continuum.
  • Ability to conceptualize and construct predictive models and optimization solutions to tackle business challenges.
  • Proficiency in applying machine learning and artificial intelligence to develop scalable analytics algorithms.
  • Experience in validating models and enhancing algorithms and solutions.

Analytical Skills

  • Extract insights from diverse internal and external data sources.
  • Compile complex data sets that align with business requirements.
  • Create data visualization tools to support business analytics and decision-making.

Collaboration and Innovation

  • Collaborate closely with division analytics team leaders.
  • Engage with data and analytics specialists across various functions to deliver effective data solutions.
  • Identify and implement new algorithms and process enhancements while automating workflows and optimizing data delivery.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree or Master’s in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in data modeling and insights generation.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical modeling techniques such as regression, random forest, and clustering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages including Python, R, SQL, and PySpark.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
  • Experience in client-facing roles within dynamic, multi-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with third-party data sources, including market data and sales information.
  • Knowledge of the consumer packaged goods sector.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and their practical applications.
  • Experience in presenting data insights using visualization tools.
  • Willingness to explore new tools and methodologies.
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.
