We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Architect to join our team at Diamond Schmitt Architects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory design and a minimum of 5 years of experience in this field. They will also have a well-rounded architectural experience and demonstrated expertise in the design and documentation of complex laboratory and healthcare projects.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment. They will be responsible for contributing to architectural design, detailing, and documentation on projects in collaboration with project architects and team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project architects and team members to design and document laboratory spaces
  • Meet with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and design laboratory spaces that meet their requirements
  • Plan and coordinate laboratory spaces, including wet and dry labs, animal labs, and other specialized spaces
  • Coordinate laboratory equipment requirements with engineering and facilities teams
  • Prepare architectural models and drawings using Revit and other modeling software
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated pursuit of excellence in design and a strong portfolio of laboratory design projects
  • A professional degree in Architecture and advanced training in Revit
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and documentation of wet bench bioscience laboratories in a university, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and documentation of dry bench and analytics laboratories in a university, healthcare, or pharmaceutical environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and documentation of animal care facilities
  • Experience with complex room data management systems such as dRofus
  • Working knowledge of current versions of AutoCAD and experience with modeling software such as Rhino, Sketchup, 3D Max, and CS Suite
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders
