Intermediate Construction Inspector

Burnside & Associates Limited is seeking an experienced Intermediate Construction Inspector to join our Field Services team. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of demonstrated inspection experience in water and wastewater transmission construction.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct daily on-site reviews of assigned projects to ensure conformance with drawings and specifications.
- Liaise between the owner, contractor, and project stakeholders, including affected members of the public.
- Prepare and issue site inspection reports.
- Ensure contractor safety plans, traffic control plans, environmental plans, and construction techniques are followed.
- Review contractor construction schedules to monitor progress against the baseline work plan.
- Prepare, coordinate, and issue project records and as-built information.
- Coordinate with specialist inspection agencies and municipal authorities as required.
- Review contractor progress payment draws and assist with payment verification.
- Assist with contract administration duties and review contractor change requests.
- 5-8 years of sewer and watermain construction experience and client relationship management.
- Diploma or education in a related discipline.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Ability to understand and interpret Contract Documents and Drawings.
- Knowledge of Construction materials, trades, means, and methods of the construction process.
- Solid understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction Regulations.
- Strong coordination and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Determination to set and manage priorities to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
